Here is a newly grafted varietal onto an existing trunk. "Chipping" is multi step process, begining with the cutting of the cordones and a section of the upper trunk for the desired location of the bud. The selected bud is placed inside a 'pocket' which is cut into the wood for the buds placement into the trunk. The plant is then taped up to secure the buds into place.
